The New Standards Check Test
The new standards check test will be in place from April 2014, that means preparing now for any approaching check test is crucial.
First piece of advice is don’t panic.
You will need to be aware of the changes to the marking system resulting in a new grade A grade, B or fail given at the end of the new standards check test. Any instructor receiving a fail will be retested within a 12 week period, if this happens you are strongly advised to seek help.
At Clever Instructor Training we can advise you on the changes and offer assessment, preparation or rescue courses concerning the new standard check.
For a confidential chat call Steve on 07775878791.

I recently read an in the latest edition, march 2014 ,of adi news.(page 6 Failing Success )
Over a 3 year period one female instructor in West Yorkshire has a pass rate of 15%…yes 15% over 3 years… 169 practical tests only a dismal 26 passes. Can you believe it! Why would pupils pay for training from this driving instructor.
Due to the data protection act the D.S.A do not publish individual driving instructors pass rates and to be frank I am of the opinion that pass rates can fluctuate from test centre to test centre also some instructors may have a difficult to train pupil base, for example more than their fair share of nervous pupils, however after reading this article I have to wonder what is going on with this ADI’s training methods.
I think the moral of the story is that when pupils choose a driving instructor the pupils should ask around their friends and choose an instructor on pass rate, friendliness, patience and professionalism and remember that a green badge in the window is not an assurance of any of these.
With Clever Instruction you will be coached through your driver training by a friendly, professional driving instructor who maintains a high pass rate.
Our Kirk Ella driving instructor Mick has just taken delivery of his brand new Vauxhall Corsa.
Hope the number plate stays the right way up Mick:-)
The Vauxhall Corsa is an excellent driving school car.Reliable, quite spacious for this class of car. The Corsa’s real advantage is the adaptability of the driving position, I have a red Corsa, just can be seen on the right of the picture, and can comfortably accommodate pupils from 5ft to taller 6ft plus.
All round driver visibility is good and with a reversing mirror fitted the “back around the bend”manoeuvre is straight forward.
